The streetpainting is all washed off, the stages are torn down, and the circusSPARK bus-flamethrower is hopefully in a fireproof garage somewhere. That’s right, SPARKcon is over. Cue the sad faces. Bring up the tiny violins. Womp womp womps all around.
But we’re still celebrating here at JouleBug HQ, located
on the 14th floor of Awesome Tower at DesignBox in the Raleigh Warehouse District. Why the celebration? Because we rocked the SPARKcon house with our first annual JouleBug Challenge!
Ok, so “rocked the house” is a bold claim, but we definitely had a great time introducing JouleBug to some of the most creative people in the Triangle. We’d especially like to thank the organizers and volunteers for welcoming us into the SPARKfold as both sponsor and contest-runner; there’s something unique and wonderful about promoting sustainability 500 feet away from acrobats fire dancers.
We welcomed a host of new users to the JouleBug community. We’re proud to announce that 29% of users who downloaded JouleBug at SPARKcon earned our limited edition badge to become eligible for the grand prize drawing of an Amazon Kindle Fire HD. Though there could only be one winner, dozens more took home awesome loot like reusable produce and sandwich bags, JouleBug Klean Kanteens, Downtown Farmer’s Market gift cards and what felt like a metric ton of candy.
And finally, a big congrats to our grand prize winner Todd Delk of Raleigh!
Todd earned the SPARKcon Badge and took home a sweet new Kindle Fire HD just for making small changes in his SPARKconning habits.
Didn’t win the Challenge? You’re still awesome because 1) you saved energy at SPARKcon, 2) you learned about how you can save up to $200 a year just by using JouleBug, and 3) you’ll have more chances in the future as we run more local challenges.
Thanks for playing, folks!
