On Friday, February 1, the City of Raleigh, North Carolina, told all 3,000+ of its city employees to buzz off. But in a good way!
Raleigh launched a sustainability challenge using JouleBug to see which city employee could rack up the most points in the app — by “buzzing” the most sustainable activities — over the next week. The winner will be crowned the City’s Sustainability Champion and will win a green prize pack.
We’re thrilled to see our hometown embracing JouleBug like this. This kind of friendly competition is exactly what makes JouleBug work. We’ll be seeing more of these community competitions in the future. In the meantime, you and your friends on Facebook and Twitter can start an informal competition of your own for green bragging rights — and real savings on your power bill.
You can keep an eye on the standings in the City of Raleigh Sustainability Buzz-Off and root for your favorite city employee by visiting the online leaderboard. (What do you mean you don’t have a favorite city employee?) The contest runs through next Friday, February 8. We’ll share the results here once they’re announced.
