We’re excited to announce the newest JouleBug community: the Town of Cary, North Carolina! Cary, with a population of about 150,000, is a fast-growing town that’s making great strides in sustainability, and we’re happy to be working with them to get more residents engaged.
JouleBug and Cary are launching this new partnership at Lazy Daze, a major downtown event that the Town puts on every summer. We’ll have folks there talking about the app, showing people how it works, and helping the Town spread the word. We’ve got some big things planned in the coming months, too, but we can’t talk about those quite yet.
The Town’s custom “Cary It Green” JouleBug badge is highlighting some of Cary’s great environmental amenities, like its extensive network of trails and greenways, and some of the innovative programs available to residents, like “Aquastar” advanced water metering. We think it’s a great example of how JouleBug can dovetail with a community’s existing sustainability work and help increase public engagement with programs and return on those investments.
Cary residents can grab the app for their phones and tablets from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Marketplace, or by heading to http://www.joulebug.com/cary. Way to go, Cary!
